In an era where google maps and location based services are wide spread throughout various mediums in both the physical and digital world, the designers at Premier Elevator wanted to combine both craft and technology to create a unique wall installation for this apartment building turned condo.
Brushed black excelsior stainless steel panels worked as the canvas for CNC engraved graphics inspired by typical suburban neighbourhoods. Location based markings and gestures map out the streets and places where where signicant moments and events occured. Scale and depth signify the value of memories making the streets and events immediately viewable in one easy to understand image.
Stainless steel suspended ceiling panels complete with eight compact led point lights illuminate the interior of this otherwise dark design. Two slim line porcelain panels on each side of the glass panels cut to fit on a lightweight aluminum substrate with stainless steel no.4 reveals and L angle trims. Finally three 1-1/2”dia stainless steel tubular handrails on all non-access walls double as bumper rails protecting the custom wall panels.
